This work explores how to extract and make sense of the complexities of this subject. Over the past year I have individually interviewed different people who are intimately connected, asking questions on the subject of love. I documented this investigative process using sound and lens based media. 
By painting the entanglement of my findings, I attempted to capture the layering of peoples personal perceptions of love. The policy of rendition, the existence of ghost prisoners, and the acts of such brutal torture and killing all in the guise of freedom, liberty, and equality brought me to me knees in desperation. Each person is given a full canvas where the background and foreground make up a whole portrait. I like to paint, as I call it, in pre-equatorial style: in other words without perspective. The work is more about the person than how light reflects on them as an outside element or on how they stand on a round planet. The events of today also contribute to my reasons for painting people; the value of life never seems to keep up with the value of technology and business. I look at the one and it looks back and asks for time, patience and respect.
